U.S. unable to thwart collapse of Israel, IRGC chief says
TEHRAN- The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, has said that the Israeli regime would “certainly collapse,” and the U.S. cannot preserve it by providing artificial respiration.
Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran on Friday, General Salami praised the October 7 surprise attack by Hamas on Israeli troops in the occupied territories.
The “deterrence capacity” of the Israeli regime, according to General Salami, has run out.
He was speaking on the 35th day of Operation al-Aqsa Storm, the largest military operation by the Gaza Strip-based resistance groups against the occupying regime in decades.
“At least 1,500 Palestinians launched an attack, and during the attack and on the Israeli front line, which is the strongest defense line in the world, not a single Palestinian was martyred and not a single shot was fired, and all the weapons were disabled even though all the settlers were armed,” Salami said.
He went on to add, “The Israeli occupation army had stationed a reliable and strong defense system near the Gaza Strip but they failed to notice; no one noticed.”
The IRGC chief averred that the enigma of the Palestinians’ sneak passage through Israeli walls, embankments and information and security barriers is unknown and the secrets of the victory on October 7 will probably be come to light later.
“Today, the deterrence capacity of the Zionist regime has been broken,” Salami stated.
He continued, “The United States cannot save the regime; it cannot give it artificial respiration. The Zionist regime has no roots in the political geography of this region and will definitely collapse.”
On Monday, General Salami said that Washington’s resources that are being spent on Israel are essentially being squandered.
“Today, America has lost its former global position and is spending money on a regime that has no benefits for it, and this is the result of the lack of wisdom in American governance,” he explained.
Salami said the events that are taking place in the region and across the world herald a big change in the course of global developments, adding that the valuable aspirations of the Islamic Republic are spreading to various parts of the world.
The commander stressed that Washington has not been able to acquire any strategies in regards to Gaza, and has merely resorted to killing civilians.
“The Americans are now trapped in a path without logic and insight, acting like someone who has no goal and is unable to find a way,” he noted.
The military official said that while the West and Israel lack a concrete plan and clear strategies, recent developments in the world show that people are becoming more and more aware of the crimes that have been committed against the Palestinians and the lies Western media has been feeding people.
After Hamas unexpectedly launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm into the occupied territories in reaction to the Israeli regime’s escalating atrocities against Palestinians, Israel declared war on Gaza on October 7.
Roughly 5,000 missiles were fired toward the occupied areas by the Palestinian resistance groups Hamas and Islamic jihad, who also captured roughly 250 Israelis.
Since then, the Israeli regime has been bombarding the Gaza Strip nonstop. Such onslaught has left thousands dead and injured so far.
A humanitarian crisis has descended upon the coastal region of Gaza as a result of the Tel Aviv regime’s blocking of food, water, and energy supplies.
As part of its onslaught, the Israeli regime has conducted numerous strikes on Gaza’s medical and educational facilities over the past few weeks.
Tel Aviv has so far disavowed international calls to establish a truce aimed to protect Palestinian civilians, particularly women and children.
